The government of Malaysia has decided not to revive the issuance of Visa On Arrival (VOA) to foreign tourists at the entry points into the country, the move to revoke the implementation of the VOA was due to the fact that the facility was being abused previously. The revocation has take into effect since 15 Aug 2010.

Introduction


Malaysia Passport is a valid travel document issued by the Malaysian Government for the purpose of traveling abroad. Malaysia Passport
is the property of The Government of Malaysia and it may be withdrawn at any time if the Immigration Department is satisfied that the passport is used contravene against the Passport Act 1966. The holder is fully responsible for the security of the Passport.

Eligibility

Only Malaysia citizen.

Where to Apply

Any Immigration Offices and Malaysian Representative Offices.

Validity

Valid for five (5) years or
two (2) years from the date of issued. Biometric passport cannot be modified due to the 'write once' policy by ICAO.

Renewal of Malaysia passport for the new passport that has a validity of 6 months or less, the new one will have 5 or 2 years validity plus maximum 6 months remaining validity in the old passport.

Fees

According to the pages as follow:

Normal price

RM100.00 for 32 Pages (Valid for 2 years)
RM300.00 for 32 pages (Valid for 5 years)
RM600.00 for 64 pages (Valid for 5 years)

Half price

RM150.00 for 32 pages
RM300.00 for 64 pages

Condition for Half Price:

Children below 12 years old and student below 21 years old with proof to study abroad on the day submission.

Exemption of payment

Exemption of payment is given to the handicap or disable person on the condition that they produce a letter from the Welfare Department.

Payment can be made by:

i. Cash
ii. Crossed Postal Money Order or Bank Draft under the name of Director- General of Immigration Malaysia or State Immigration Director only.
iii. The Payment for application via Malaysian Offices Abroad by commonwealth country must be under the name of Malaysia High Commissioner or Deputy Malaysia High Commissioner or by Non-commonwealth country must be under the name of Malaysia Ambassador or Malaysia Consulate General.

Passport Application Processing Time:

Within an hour after payment being made.
