Q: How long
does a passport application process?
A: The passport can be issued within 2 hours for passport issuance offices
and 3 working days for recipient office.
Some immigration offices can issue
the passport within 1 hour after received the payment. Please refer to
issuance offices in this website for further
information.
Q: I'm planning to submit my passport application, when is the peak period
to avoid?
A: Most of the
Immigration Offices are peak on Monday, Friday,
Saturday (for selected branch only), school holidays, eve and the day after
public holiday.
Q: I'm a 60 year old pensioner. Am I eligible for a half priced passport
fee?
A: Yes. Senior citizens (60 years old & above), children below 12 years old
and student below 21 years old with proof to study abroad on the day
submission eligible for a half priced passport fee.
Q: I have two (2) children. Can I include their particulars in my passport?
A: The new Malaysian Passport System does not allow the inclusion of
children's particulars in the parents' passport to be made.
Q: I'm now in Amsterdam and wish to apply for a new Malaysia Passport.
What do I have to do? Does the Malaysian Embassy here issue a Malaysian
Passport (MRP)?
A: You can submit your passport application at the Malaysian Embassy in
Amsterdam. However you will be issued with an old version of the Malaysian
passport which will be replaced to a new version upon your return to
Malaysia. If you wish to have Malaysia Readable Passport (MRP) you can
submit the application at the Malaysian High Commission office in London.
Q: I was supposed to depart to Hong Kong on MH107 at 8.30 am but
Immigration Officer at KLIA stop me from leaving country. What should I do
and why I was stopped?
A: People are stopped from leaving the country for various reasons as
follows:
• Offences under the Immigration Act,
• Instruction from Insolvency Department, or
• Instruction from Royal Malaysia Police,
• Instruction from Inland Revenue Board,

Q: I have lost my passport. What should I do and What are the forms and
documents required?
A: You are required to make a Police Report at the nearest Police Station.
You can submit your application at the nearest
Immigration Office by filling
in the passport application form and a Questionnaire Form (IMM.42C). Based
on the client charter, the decision and process will take a period of 3 / 4 months. More

Q: How much is the fee of a passport? What are the documents required to
get one and am I eligible for a half priced fee?
A: The passport fee for adult is RM300.00. Half price for senior citizens
(60 years old & above), children below 12 years old and student below 21
years old with proof to study abroad on the day submission. The fee is exempted for
the handicap or disable person with a condition, they must produce a letter
from the Welfare Department. The documents required to apply for a passport
are Identification Card (Original and photocopy), Birth Certificate
(original and photocopy) and two recent passport sized photographs.
